For When Understanding Your Emotional Pain Isn’t Enough
If you’ve tried to think your way out of what you’ve been carrying emotionally through therapy, books, self-help, or years of careful analysis, and the heaviness is still there, please know you haven’t failed. You’ve simply done all the work the mind can do.
Understanding emotional pain isn’t the same as releasing it. Two steps are needed for an emotional wound to heal, and most approaches only ever reach the first. Head-to-Heart Healing is the part of the work that takes you from understanding what you’ve been carrying to actually letting it go. That’s exactly what we’re here to help you with.
Is this right for you?
head-to-heart healing is right for you if:
- Maybe you can see your patterns clearly, but you’re still living inside them.
- Maybe your emotional reactions arrive before you can stop them, and you can feel the heaviness in your body.
- Maybe you’ve tried to let things go, and they’ve quietly come back.
- Maybe you’re done with insight that never quite turns into change, and you’re ready for real emotional release rather than just coping.
head-to-heart-healing is not right for you if:
This isn’t the right fit just yet if you’re not ready to feel what’s been buried, and that’s absolutely fine. We would recommend Make It Make Sense as a gentle place to begin. It also isn’t right if you’re in a mental health crisis. This work is deeply supportive, but it isn’t a substitute for crisis care. If you’re really struggling right now, please contact a mental health professional first.
What Is Head-to-Heart Healing?
The method follows two simple steps. The first is the head, where we help you see what you’ve been carrying clearly, not as a vague heaviness but as the specific emotional wound and story that formed around it. The second is the heart, where the focus shifts from thoughts and analysis to feelings and wisdom. You feel the emotions that have been buried, release the old beliefs that grew around them, and allow space for something new. Your mind has done its job; now let your heart complete the journey towards emotional release.
You don’t need to have read our book or prepared anything at all. You just need to show up exactly as you are. The work requires honesty and, at times, feels raw and uncomfortable. But you are always held emotionally and supported. We help you face what you’ve been avoiding, and then let it go.
What you’ll get from it
You’ll leave feeling genuinely lighter and freer, as the heaviness you came in carrying finally moves. This isn’t about understanding your struggles differently. It’s about actually releasing them, in a way that’s deeply felt in your heart and body, not just thought in your mind.
In the days and weeks that follow, you’ll likely find yourself far less reactive and much more like your true self. Old triggers lose their power, your energy returns, and your body lets go of tensions it’s been holding for so long.
Why this works
Most emotional wounds aren’t problems. They’re simply protected in ways that have outlived their purpose.
Most emotional wounds form for a simple reason. It is when an incident happens, and we give it a meaning: we perceive that, in that situation, one or more of the 4 human needs weren’t met. Those needs are the need to feel emotionally and physically safe, the need to feel loved, the need to feel that you belong, and the need to feel like you matter. When those needs went unmet, especially in childhood, an emotional wound was formed, and your inner protective system then stepped in to try to ensure you don’t feel that pain again. Those protections served you then, but they’re likely holding you back now.
These protections don’t dissolve through logic. They live in your body, far deeper than the thinking mind can reach. So while your head might understand what happened, that doesn’t mean your system has let it go yet. Real release happens when you move gently down from the head into the heart. There’s nothing mystical about it. It’s a kind, structured process that works because it reaches the root rather than the symptom.
We invite you to take this time for yourself and come and find the peace you deserve.
How to do this work
Join us for a 3-hour session dedicated entirely to you. Whatever you choose to bring, we will hold it safely with you, guiding you at a pace that is gentle and feels right.
Why 3 Hours? Traditional therapy sessions often end after less than an hour, and just as you’re beginning to open up. But real release needs you to go deeper and to have room to breathe. You deserve the time to truly settle in, to move past the surface story, and to reach what is waiting underneath. These 3 hours give you the space to move fully through the process without rushing, allowing you to do the deep work and still have time to come back to yourself, feeling grounded and whole, before the session ends.
What To Expect? This work is intensive. You will be challenged. You will also be held. We create a space safe enough for you to be real, to feel things you have avoided, to say things you have never said, and to finally face what has been buried. Personal attention allows for genuine depth.
- Face-To-Face session with Steve and Cilla
- £300 per session
- All sessions are 3 hours
- Typically, 2 to 4 weeks between sessions
- Block bookings available with payment plans

Why Both Steve and Cilla? Two people working together do something one person alone can’t.
Steve was an original director of Kooth, the LSE-listed digital mental health provider. One of his strengths is that he sees the patterns, such as how things connect, why you react the way you do, and what’s actually going on underneath.
Cilla brings extensive experience guiding people through personal change. One of her strengths is her ability to notice what isn’t being said. She picks up on the things you might not know you’re feeling, and her warmth helps you say them when you’re ready.
Practical Things Worth Knowing: Since this is emotional work rather than just thinking work, it can be more tiring than you might expect. To support yourself through the process, we recommend eating well before your session and bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated. Most importantly, please wear something comfortable and bring a jumper or wrap, as even on a warm day, the process of releasing emotions can often leave you feeling a bit chilly.
Be gentle with yourself. You may feel physically tired while your mind stays busy processing the work you have done. This is completely normal. We recommend keeping your calendar clear for the rest of the day/evening to give yourself the time and space you need. Whether it’s a quiet walk, a long bath, or an early night, prioritise your own company. Resist the urge to talk it all through with friends or family immediately; sometimes this work needs to settle quietly inside you before it can be shared.
If you decide to continue further with this work after your first session, you can save 10% on all future sessions by committing to a block booking. This discount is available whether you pay for the block booking in full up front or spread the cost over a monthly payment plan.
From Those Who Have Done This Work
“I worked with Steve over a couple of Head-to-Heart Healing sessions, each addressing different patterns that had been controlling my life. The emotional healing I’ve experienced has changed how I live my life. The process didn’t just help me understand these patterns intellectually. It gave me the tools to actually release what I’d been holding onto for decades.”

— Theresa H
“The depth of what Steve offered keeps revealing itself. Even now, I’m still discovering how much he gave. The Head-to-Heart Healing process unblocked something huge and deep in me.”

— Dayo Gilmour
“What makes their approach so powerful is that it doesn’t let you hide from yourself. You simply cannot lie or make excuses. The process demands complete honesty, and that’s a big reason why it works. It’s challenging, but Cilla and Steve are two of the kindest, most dedicated people you’ll ever meet.”

— Anthony Bethell
“I’m a Bowen specialist with over thirty years of experience working with trauma, yet I’d never faced my own. After a single Head-to-Heart Healing session, Steve and Cilla helped me see I’d been carrying the classic patterns of impostor syndrome. The process got to the root of my fear of public speaking and helped me release it. I spoke in public recently and only realised afterwards that I hadn’t got into my usual flap. Not before, not during. Simply amazing.”

— Delbert Skeete
Where These Sessions Can Lead
For many people, Head-to-Heart Healing is the perfect place to do focused work on one specific piece of emotional weight. They release it, feel the difference straight away, and find exactly what they came for. For others, doing this work just once opens up something bigger.
That gentle realisation is often what leads people towards the deeper, longer journey we call Rebecoming. It’s a 6-month programme for the unhurried work of peeling back the layers life has wrapped around you, releasing the weight you’ve been carrying, and reconnecting with the real you who has always been there.
There is absolutely no pressure or rush to choose a specific path. You simply find the door that feels right for you, in your own time.
